I come to you, this day, granddaughter, to offer you blessings.
As you light your candle or lamp, think of me and place it carefully beside a plant or bowl of dirt. Then, beloved one, take a seed and tuck into a green piece of fabric that holds some of the dirt you have gathered. Wrap it up and carry it with you, all the while, consider the power of the earth and choose the quality that you wish to embody in the new year. Do not be weak minded, granddaughter, I have taught you how to listen... Hear the Earth. Feel the Earth Mother and decide if you wish to be strong and stable, nurturing, rooted/grounded, or what the earth speaks personally to you. Choose and then plant the seed by days end in a pot and take care that it grows lush. This will be the blessing I give to you.
